The drills also included convoy escort operations and an underway replenishment exercise with the Russian fleet tanker Pechenga. “Naval aviation crews from both sides were involved. A Russian Ka-27M helicopter landed on the deck of the Indian destroyer Rana, and an Indian Chetak helicopter landed on a Russian corvette,” the statement added. According to the ministry, Russia was represented by the Pacific Fleet’s corvettes Rezkiy and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov, and the medium sea tanker Pechenga. India deployed the destroyer INS Rana and the corvette INS Kuthar. “The ships returned to the port of Chennai for debriefing and the official closing ceremony of the exercise,” the ministry said.
