In Rwanda in 1994, Hutus launched a genocide against Tutsis whom they blamed for the downing of then President Juvenal Habyarimana's plane, and more than 800 thousand moderate Hutus and Tutsis lost their lives in the 100-day massacre in the country. The massacre in Rwanda is recognized as one of the biggest genocides in history. The UN organizes the Rwandan Genocide Victims Remembrance Day on April 7 every year.
