Demonstrators, carrying Palestinian flags and banners gathered near the Austrian Parliament before marching toward the State Opera House. During the marching they carried dolls, stained with red paint to symbolize Palestinian children killed in Gaza, calling for stronger international act against Israel’s ongoing assault. The Israeli army resumed its assault on Gaza on March 18, shattering a Jan. 19 ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement. Israel has killed nearly 51,500 Palestinians in Gaza since a cross-border attack by Hamas in October 2023. The UN has warned that the entire Gaza Strip, home to over 2 million people, could soon face famine as aid kitchens are expected to fully run out of food. Israel’s blockade since March 2 has prevented the entry of food, fuel, and medicine into the enclave for two months. Writing by Aleyna Cil
