- Story Text: Balmain fashion house choses to travel back to the early 1980's at a Paris show.
Balmain presented it's collection in Paris to a classic Madonna soundtrack on Saturday (September 28).
Balmain designer Christophe Decarnin used the classic combination of a top over a pair of torn jeans, giving a sophisticated glam rock feel.
The designer mainly used strong colours and strass hussard-like jackets with a military feel and tuxedos showing with astonishing round shoulder pads.
For Vogue magazine director Carine Roitfeld, it's a good start to Paris Fashion Week.
"You know it starts in Paris so it's very important for us, it's a good mood for Paris, it's very exciting and I think that the girls on the run-way are exactly like us, we want to wear those dresses so I think that we are going to start the push-ups now, a lot of gym because they are very tiny, very skinny but it's so beautiful. And the music, everything is a good mood," she said.
Also attending the show was actress Milla Jovovich, who simply loved it.
"Amazing, I loved it. I'm a big fan of shinny stuff, so anything shinny can come my way any day" she told Reuters. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
