- Story Text: Brazil's top stylists presented more of their latest creations on Thursday (June 16) on the runways of Sao Paulo Fashion Week -- South America's most important fashion event.
The day's parades pointed towards a summer of pale colors as designers are leaving behind the bright tones that dominated the fashion scene last year.
But the bikini brand Agua de Coco swam against the current and showcased a colorful collection with swimsuits where orange, purple and yellow prevailed.
Although Brazil is famous for its tiny bikinis, most designer swimsuits were not as revealing.
The brand's team of designers sought inspiration in the architecture of the country's capital city Brasilia with cuts that imitate buildings by Oscar Niemeyer.
Transparencies also took over Thursday's shows.
Designer Priscilla Darolt, known for her fancy and eco-friendly fabrics, put on a show with few colors but full of graphic patterns.
Architect Angelica Daraia complimented the choice of the music for the show.
"I think the soundtrack matched very well with the show, the clothes and the trend that she wanted to display. The clothes were beautiful; I really enjoyed it," she said.
Fashion student Fabiana Menezes said she loved everything about the collection.
"I literally liked everything. I liked the collection, I liked the colors she used… I really liked it," she said.
Thirty-one Brazilian designers will present their upcoming collections until Saturday at the country's biggest fashion event.
