- Story Text:Airlines resumed flights to and from Tel Aviv in the wake of a ceasefire with Iran on Wednesday (June 25), after Israel's air space has largely been closed for nearly two weeks.
Israel's military lifted restrictions on activity across the country on Tuesday (June 24) evening 12 days during which Israel and Iran traded air attacks.
Officials said Ben Gurion Airport, the country's main international gateway, had reopened.
Israeli Airports Authority said it was in contact with airlines to try and accelerate return capacity, as tens of thousands of Israeli travellers were stranded abroad following the start of the Israel-Iran war on June 13.
El Al Israel Airlines ELAL.TA, Israel's flag carrier, said it was working on an airlift to bring Israelis back to the country.
Departure flights were also in operation, and foreign nationals stranded in Israel were able to leave the country.
