- Story Text: LONDON POLICEMEN HAD DIFFICULTY IN CONTROLLING CROWDS OF HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE IN CARNABY STREET, NEW CENTRE OF THE CITY'S POP FASHIONS, TODAY (THURSDAY). THEY WERE FLOCKING TO THE WINDOW OF A BOUTIQUE , WHERE FASHION MODELS STRIPPED AND CHANGED IN FULL VIEW TO DEMONSTRATE SOME OF THE STYLES STOCKED BY THE SHOP.
THE UNUSUAL FASHION SHOW BEGAN YESTERDAY (WEDNESDAY) AND TRAFFIC AND SHOPPERS WERE BROUGHT TO A HALT. TODAY, SWELLED BY THE PUBLICITY THAT THE SHOW RECEIVED IN THE NEWSPAPERS, CROWDS BLOCKED THE STREET COMPLETELY.
NOT ONLY DID THE TWO MODELS SHOW THE STYLES IN THE WINDOW, THEY ALSO DID THEIR BETWEEN-SHOW CHANGES, DOWN TO THEIR UNDERWEAR, IN FULL VIEW OF PASSERS-BY.
OWNER OF THE SHOP, MR HENRY MOSS, WHO WAS INTERVIEWED BY THE POLICE TODAY, WAS REPORTED TO HAVE SAID YESTERDAY: "IT CREATES INTEREST, AND THAT'S WHAT SHOP WINDOWS ARE FOR".
MR. MOSS SAID HE DECIDED ON THIS FORM OF FASHION SHOW AFTER CONSULTING HIS LAWYERS.
