- Story Text: Bolivians celebrated Pachamama on Friday (August 1) with communities gathering on Pachjiri Hill to perform traditional ceremonies and offerings to Mother Earth. Offerings included young llamas, sweets, and herbs, symbolizing gratitude and hopes for better harvests.
Amidst high inflation and economic challenges, many asked Pachamama for stabilization and a supportive government in the upcoming elections.
"We ask Pachamama to stabilize the dollar exchange rate, to stabilize everything, because there are no supplies to buy, everything is expensive," said Maria Apaza, a believer, "Perhaps the new government can stabilize it again, so everyone can have a meal at home, a piece of bread every day."
