Title:UK-Northern Ireland: Ulster Defence Force March in Derry
Date:22nd June 1972
Summary:On June 22 1972 the ban on political marches in Northern Ireland had just been lifted and militant protestants took to the streets. But this Londonderry march ended in violence when the marchers came to the Craigavon Bridge, where the River Foyle divided the city. Troops fired rubber bullets to prevent the marchers crossing into the mainly Catholic areas.
