- Story Text: Romance is in the air in Sochi as people in the host city of the 2014 Winter Olympics geared up for annual Valentine's Day celebrations.
For more than a week now the focus in the city has been on the Olympic Games, but from Thursday (February 13) it was transforming into the city of love, with more and more heart-shaped decorations hanging from team hubs and adorning shop fronts, as people got in the mood to woo their loved ones.
Adding to the amorous feeling was the unusually warm weather allowing couples to stroll hand-in-hand along the Sochi harbour, serenaded by musicians. Or to enjoy a romantic moment sitting and watching the sun go down from the beach.
The high temperatures may have brought the couples of Sochi closer together in time for Valentine's Day, but it has been causing some athletes to get hot and bothered.
But the Sochi Olympic motto "Hot, Cool, Yours" couldn't be more fitting. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
