Summary:British troops run for cover in Belfast on September 29, 1972. Two people died and at least seven were injured as soldiers and IRA gunmen fought a six-hour gun battle in the Falls Road area of the city. It was one of the worst days of violence the city had seen. Apart from the gun battle there were several other incidents including the bombing of a Catholic bar in which fifteen people were injured.
