- Story Text: Anti-war protesters have attacked a bus outside a
McDonalds restaurant in Hamburg.
Police in the northern German city Hamburg said the
double-decker restaurant bus was attacked on Thursday (April
10, 2003) just after 3AM (1GMT) as it was parked outside the
fast-food restaurant, often used for children's birthday
parties.
When the fire department arrived on the scene, the bus and
part of the McDonald's playground next to the parking lot were
on fire.
At the scene police officers also found flyers from a
left-wing extremist group which has been known to participate
in anti-war demonstrations, with the title: "Solidarity in the
opposition against imperialism and zionism."
No one was injured but the bus was completely burnt out
and police say the investigation is continuing.
