- Story Text: Egyptian War Minister General Ahmed Ismail told a group of five hundred Egyptian emigrants in Cairo on Wednesday (26th December) that the Egyptians were fully prepared to deal 'a second and third blow' to Israel. The 500 emigrants were members of the Arab Socialist Union who have settled in the United States, Canada and Australia. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Hafez Ghanem, First Secretary of the Arab Socialist Union, and General Geredly, who had served at the front in the recent Arab-Israeli War. He explained the achievements of the Egyptian army. General Ismail said that Egypt should be ready to fight at any time despite the current Arab-Israeli peace talks in Geneva. He said that the October War had shattered the myth of Israeli invincibility, enhanced Arab unity, and broken the Middle East stalemate.
General Ismail said that Israeli forces on the West Bank of the Suez Canal were encircled. The Geneva Peace Conference has decided to assign a military committee to discuss the separation of Arab and Israeli forces along the Suez Canal.
