Summary:In May United Nations Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim visited Zambia for 2 days on his way to the OAU celebrations, and was taken on a quick tour of the border with Rhodesia, near Victoria Falls, by Zambian Foreign Minister, Elijah Mudenda.He also saw the aftermath of land-mine explosions which his hosts said were caused by Rhodesian agents, and said that the closure by Zambia of its border was in line with the UN's position on Rhodesian sanctions.
