- Story Text: Actor Jeremy Piven led the cast of his hit television show "Entourage" down the red carpet at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles for the premiere of Season 7.
The cast and creators of the popular American television series "Entourage" are celebrating the start of Season 7.
The premiere for this next group of episodes unfolded on Wednesday (June 16) night at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.
There Jeremy Piven and his co-stars made their way down the red carpet, posing for photos and talking to reporters ahead of the screening.
"Entourage" follows the story of a young film star trying to make his way to the top in Hollywood with the help of his brother and a group of childhood friends from Queens, New York.
Adrian Grenier plays an actor by the name of Vincent Chase. Piven portrays his abrasive but loveable agent, Ari Gold.
Mark Wahlberg is one of the executive producers. The show is based loosely on his experience of pursuing fame in Tinseltown.
Piven, 44, talked about why he thinks "Entourage" is so popular.
"I think people love it for the same reason they watch all of your shows, to be honest with you, because they love the backstage life of Hollywood. And, this hopefully has a fairly accurate representation of what that's like."
Piven has earned three Emmys and a Golden Globe for his role on the show.
Grenier shared his thoughts on why fans love the series.
"It's about friendship," explained the 33-year-old actor. "And, as long as you have good fun and you're loyal, it can last a lifetime. And that's what the show is about. And we could go on forever."
Kevin Dillon credited the dynamics between the cast and clever dialogue for the success of the show.
"You know, I think the secret is chemistry and good writing, is really the key to get any kind of a show that kind of success," said Dillon, 44. "So, we're lucky we have both of those things."
Kevin Connolly quipped that it was hard to pinpoint exactly why "Entourage" is still on top.
"A lot of luck. Lot of luck," smiled Connolly, 36. "And listen, anytime-- it's lightening in a bottle. Anytime you, as an actor, that have a job for seven years in a row, you just have to consider yourself extremely, extremely lucky."
Co-star Dania Ramirez said the allure of Hollywood keeps fans watching year after year.
"You know, I think it's just, we give people a little glimpse at the world of entertainment. And I think that's always fascinating. You know, that's always kind of like the unreachable, the untouchable. And that's what always keeps kind of like people coming back."
After the seventh season, six more episodes will air in 2011 concluding the series.
A film adaptation of "Entourage" is already in the works.
Piven talked about making a movie version of "Entourage."
"Next season is going to be the end of the series of 'Entourage.' And then, you know, people always come up to me and they say 'The episodes are not long enough.' So, this will give a chance for people to see two hours of 'Entourage,' which will be really great. And, I really look forward to it."
A few of the guest stars who have appeared on the series also attended the premiere, including Lenny Kravitz, Debi Mazar, and Canadian actress Emmanuelle Chriqui.
