- Story Text: 'White Diamond' digs deep into Kylie Minogue's return to the stage after her battle with breast cancer. And for one and only night Kylie fans across the UK have the opportunity to watch it at a special premiere screening. The singer herself was at the premiere accompanied by sister Dannii.
: The showgirl/pop princess, however you want to call her is back.
Kylie Minogue has been working hard since her recovery from breast cancer and is back with a new single, a new album, and a movie.
'White Diamond' tells the story of her comeback to the stage and gives fans the chance to see an exclusive premiere screening on October 16.
It shows Kylie's return to the world stage with her 2006 Showgirl Homecoming Tour. The film shows Kylie with intimate close up back stage footage and interviews, including Kylie talking about her feelings, worries and aspirations on how she and her team take Showgirl from rehearsals to the road, first in Australia and then to the UK London's Leicester Square was filled with fans. Reuters TV caught up with a few: "I really love Kylie Minogue, I think she's absolutely fantastic. And I've waited here all day for h er , so have my friends, and we think she's absolutely awesome dude."
"We know this time that Kylie's back, she's sexier than ever, her bum's out again, and she's back."
One female fan, Andrea, follows Kylie around the world and was last at the singer's perfume launch in London before travelling to Australia.
"Yes we've been to Australia together to see all the shows there."
Kylie doesn't just appeal to teens , middle-aged and older generations, her very young fans didn't go amiss, and one little girl even sang one of her favourite Kylie songs.
When the pop princess herself arrived, the mood couldn't have been any better and asked about her physical health and whether she can allow herself to be as energetic as ever or has to be more careful she responded:
"I have moments of great energy and I try to balance that with times when I can just rest, certainly in videos and things like that, as I used to do , if at lunchtime I can manage to speed-eat then just lie still for a little while, just the quiet moments are important."
Her new song '2 Hearts' will be out on November 12, the first taster of her album 'X', which in turn will be out on November 26.
"I've got short blonde hair and I really wanted to have curls, we didn't go into the video trying to do a Marilyn it kind of just ended up that way, it was fun, lots of hair-acting."
So what do we learn about Kylie from the movie?
"Probably how ordinary I am, this is just a front. The sparkle is to try and dazzle you, I don't know I often talk about my crew and my team and how much I really need them around me and to able to do my job and to shine and I think that comes through , I think a lot of the kids like in Dannii's show , they might think you kind of just go out and it happens , it's meant to look easy but there's a lot of hard work behind the scenes" she said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
