- Story Text: Actress Julia Roberts came out to greet fans and promote her latest film "Fireflies in the Garden" at The Grove shopping center in Los Angeles on Wednesday (October 12).
The "Pretty Woman" actress delighted fans and movie-goers as she posed with co-stars and signed autographs on the red carpet.
Roberts plays the role of the matriarch in this film, which also co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Willem DaFoe, and her character is at the core of holding together the dysfunctional family.
In real life, Roberts was 7 months pregnant with her third child while filming "Fireflies in the Garden" and she found that her role as a mother prepared her for some of the challenges in portraying her character.
"I think it's challenging for everybody in different ways. My challenges as a wife and a mother are very different from the ones I portray in this movie, but I think for everybody it's a challenge," said Roberts.
Actress Carrie-Ann Moss, who plays the estranged wife of Ryan Reynold's character in the film, was thrilled to be working with the "Pretty Woman" actress, whom she is a big fan of.
"She's wonderful. She's so lovely, open and easy to be around, I'm a huge fan of hers, I'm honored to be in a movie with her, it's, you know, a thrill," said Moss of Roberts.
Young starlet Hayden Panettiere, who had numerous emotional scenes alongside Roberts, was also delighted to be working with the Oscar-winning actress.
"You only dream as a young actress to work with somebody like that and this whole cast is just phenomenal," said Panettiere.
As for the film's message to the audience, Moss hopes that it inspires parents especially to be the best parents to their children.
"As parents, the words and the actions that we have with our children impact who they are as grown-ups. I mean, that's obviously true but this movie really shows that and I hope people really feel inspired to be the best they can for their kids," said Moss.
"Fireflies in the Garden" explores the emotions and relationships of a family as they are forced to deal with an immense tragedy that brings them together. Roberts is joined by an all-star cast including Ryan Reynolds, Willem DaFoe and Emily Watson, and the film will be in U.S. theaters from Friday, October 14. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
