- Story Text: "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" premiered in Los Angeles on Thursday (October 02). The film's stars, Michael Cera and Kat Dennings, walked the red carpet and talked about how filming in New York City added to the charm of their sweetheart comedy.
The film follows two high school seniors as they spend an adventurous night together running around Manhattan in search of the secret gig of their favorite band. A majority of the scenes were filmed on the streets of New York and Cera said he enjoyed getting to shoot on location.
"It was amazing. It was the most time I'd ever spent in New York, and I've always wanted to live there since I was really young, for some reason. I don't know why, but I've always been really attracted to that city.
I had my own apartment that I was subletting. It was the first time I really ever felt like I was living in New York. It was great; I was living in the East Village, and I really got to know it. I was sad to go. It was sad to leave my apartment," said Cera.
Cera, who won critical acclaim for his roles in films like "Juno" and "Superbad" was recently named one of the hottest stars under 25 - an accreditation he doesn't give much thought.
"It means, nothing to me really. I've been acting since I was nine and I just always really liked working on sets and that's why I do it.
That's the only thing I really truly enjoy about it."
Cera's co-star, Dennings, however was a little more appreciative of his acclaim, saying he deserves all the good attention.
"He is deserving of acting awards and awards of all sorts and I think he's a special person and people are realizing it and I think that's fantastic," said Dennings.
