- Story Text: Thousands of young film fans flocked to London's Leicester Square to catch a glimpse of one of Hollywood's hottest new stars, Miley Cyrus.
Attending the UK Premiere of their film 'Hanna Montana: The Movie', Miley Cyrus and her father, country music singer Billy Ray Cyrus, where swamped by media and fans alike.
"It is pretty crazy, Miley Cyrus told Reuters from the specially created purple and yellow carpet. "I think that the moment it really kicks in is when you come to places like this and there are some many people everywhere, it is amazing."
The sixteen-year-old actress has become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood as her first non concert movie topped the North American box office, selling 34 million dollars (USD) worth of tickets over the three-day Easter weekend.
Father Billy Ray Cyrus has a lot to smile about.
"We are having a great time. We are really proud of the movie, I am certainly proud of my little girl, I am proud of our cast and the director and all of our friends at Disney that helped us make this movie. It is a great day to celebrate here in London."
Teen actors in Hollywood come and go, but director Peter Chelsom believes that Cyrus has a combination of talents that sets her apart from her peers:
"She is just so irresistible, she is adorable, she is what they call in Hollywood a triple-threat: she can sing, she can dance, she can act, but she is also funny."
Cyrus' previous big-screen outing, "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour," opened with 31 million dollars last year, ending up with 65 million dollars to become the biggest concert movie of all time.
Her father believes that Miley's success is not just a flash in the pan but is tied to his daughter's mindset and character.
"She has got a lot of heart and soul and she knows that achieving dreams is about staying focused and most important, loving what you do for a living," he said.
And if the pressure of being a global superstar proves to much, Cyrus knows she has the support of her family to help keep her feet firmly on the ground.
"It is really important, because they keep me level headed and also keep me knowing that at any point that I need to take a second to relax, I am able to."
Cyrus' next project is a movie based on a book by Nicolas Sparks -- the author of 'A Walk to Remember,' and 'The Notebook'.
