I mean, you know, right away that's a pretty interesting premise." SISSY SPACEK TALKING TO REPORTERS (SOUNDBITE) (English) SISSY SPACEK, SAYING: "It feels good. It's quite a relief. We've taken it, you know it's a small film, small budget, took a long time for the producers to raise the money for this kind of a film. Which is so wonderful that they did. So we've taken it to all the film festivals and tried to get word of mouth going. As you see, we're here, so we're supporting it." DUVALL TALKING TO REPORTER (SOUNDBITE) (English) ROBERT DUVALL, SAYING: "They've always made films .. they have in the past .. they'll make films like this, you know. At least in the periphery. It used to be in the 70's it was within the system. Now it's kind of outside the system. They'll always make different kinds of movies in Hollywood. Going into the 21st century it's such a world wide "in" medium, filmmaking, in every country." CUTAWAY OF MEDIA DIRECTOR AARON SCHNEIDER AND PRODUCER DEAN ZANUCK POSING FOR PHOTOGRAPHS (SOUNDBITE) (English) AARON SCHNEIDER, DIRECTOR, SAYING: "Yeah a good time and a wonderful performance by a great cast. It's a folk tale, it's the kind of story your grandpa would have told you around the dinner table. If you're willing to sit back and relax we've got a tall tale for you." LUCAS BLACK ON RED CARPET (SOUNDBITE) (English) LUCAS BLACK, SAYING: "You know I really do like the independents. The working environment seems a lot better. Everybody is a lot closer especially on a project like this. You know all of us, we love the story. You're there for more passion. But it's also great to do the big budget movies and get that pay check at the end of the day." GERALD MCRANEY AND WIFE DELTA BURKE TALKING TO REPORTERS (SOUNDBITE) (English) GERALD MCRANEY, SAYING: "It's the kind of movie that doesn't make the big splash. People have to see it and word has to spread on its own before a movie like this takes off. It was just a pleasure working on it. The people that I worked with on this film are just incredible. I mean this is one of the great experiences of my life, was doing this film." WIDE OF RED CARPET

- Story Text: Hollywood veterans Robert Duvall and Sissy Spacek took to the red carpet in Beverly Hills to promote their latest film, "Get Low." The movie tells a tale of a mysterious 1930s Tennessee hermit who threw his own funeral party while he was still alive. The plot is based on a real-life man and the folklore about his life that had passed along through generations.
Duvall said he was quick to say yes to the film. The character gave him a lot to work with.
"Well he's an interesting guy who sets up and goes to his own funeral," said Duvall. "I mean, you know, right away that's a pretty interesting premise."
A popular topic of discussion on the red carpet was the sense of accomplishment in finally getting the low budget film to theatres. "Get Low" was first screened at the Toronto Film Festival in 2009 and has since made the rounds of many major festivals including Sundance. Sissy Spacek said she was just excited to be able to finally premiere the film.
"It feels good. It's quite a relief. We've taken it, you know it's a small film, small budget," said Spacek. "It took a long time for the producers to raise the money for this kind of a film. Which is so wonderful that they did. So we've taken it to all the film festivals and tried to get word of mouth going. As you see, we're here, so we're supporting it."
The premiere got support from a few other Hollywood stars including James Caan and Mira Sorvino.
