- Story Text: Thomas Jane, Anne Heche and the stars of the HBO series "Hung" hit the red carpet for the premiere of season two. "Hung" follows Ray Drecker, played by Thomas Jane, a high school basketball coach who falls on hard times and becomes a male escort to make extra money.
"What the writers have given me is the opportunity to do is show what it takes to be a strong guy in a crazy world. You know, because not only am I learning how to be a more desirable man to women. I am also forced to answer why I should be a strong, more confident man for myself," said Thomas Jane.
The show is shot and based in Michigan and deals with real world issues like personal finances and struggling to makemeet in a down economy.
"I don't know if it's what people, the writers, are pushing the message to be, I just think it's just that the economy is so down people are going to do what they have to do. Ray does what he has to do to get money. Jessica's realizing that she has been living this high lifestyle the whole time. And, she, they can't afford it anymore so, a lot of people are having to cut back," said Sianoa Smit-McPhee, who plays Darby Drecker.
Rebecca Creskoff who plays at the Lenore Bernard says the show relates because of it's subject matter, ""It's much deeper than I would imagined it to be because it's a comedy but it actually goes deep.
