And also introduces a character who I had never heard of before I saw Christopher Hampton's play that the movie is based on, her name was Sabina Spielrein, and she was Jung's patient, became his lover and well, you have to see the movie to see what happens after that.'' VARIOUS OF KIERA KNIGHTLEY SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS AND BEING INTERVIEWED (SOUNDBITE) (English) KEIRA KNIGHTLEY ON HER ACCENT, SAYING: "It was right at the beginning when I started talking to David about it he said the character has facial ticks and I want a mid Atlantic accent with a blush of Russian." MICHAEL FASSBENDER BEING INTERVIEWED (SOUNDBITE) (English) MICHAEL FASSBENDER, ON IF HE'S PLEASED WITH THE FILM, SAYING: '' Yes very pleased. And great ensemble cast, you know, Keira, Viggo, Vincent, Sarah, we really had a lot of fun and everyone came prepared and ready to just go to work.'' I think it takes a while for people to accept what he does and that's probably one of the reasons he has never been nominated for an Oscar, for example, which he should have been years ago, maybe it will change this time? I hope so, for his sake.'' DAVID CRONENBERG BEING INTERVIEWED (SOUNDBITE) (English) DAVID CRONENBERG, ON WHO WAS THE NAUGHTIEST PERSON SET, SAYING: ''Who's the most trouble on set? - Story Text: Despite its serious nature, Keira Knightley has described working on her latest film, A Dangerous Method, as one of the most fun experiences of her movie career to date.
With a coat wrapped around her shoulders and suffering from a cold, the British actress still managed to look glamorous on the red carpet on Monday (October 24, 2011).
She was joined at the London Film Festival event by her co-stars in the psychoanalytical drama, Viggo Mortensen and Michael Fassbender, and, from the sounds of things, the three had a great time together on set.
''Do you know what, I think it was one of the funnest films I have ever done, which seems kind of perverse, given the subject matter and how deep and dark it goes,'' Knightley said.
Adding: ''It is a wonderful group of people and David Cronenberg is just a dream and Michael Fassbender is completely wonderful, as is Viggo Mortensen, so I feel like I am a very, very lucky girl.'' When asked who the bigger joker was, Viggo or Michael, Viggo replied saying it was a ''toss up''.
Directed by Eastern Promises filmmaker, David Cronenberg, the movie looks at the intense relationship between psychologist heavyweights Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung.
Cronenberg explained: ''It is basically the story of Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung and the birth of psychoanalysis. And also introduces a character, who I had never heard of before I saw Christopher Hampton's play that the movie is based on, her name was Sabina Spielrein, and she was Jung's patient, became his lover and well, you have to see the movie to see what happens after that.'' Fassbender takes on the role of Jung, while Mortensen is Freud and Knightley plays Sabina Spielrein. A challenging female role, but one Knightley embraced: ''It was right at the beginning when I started talking to David about it, he said the character had facial ticks, I mean ticks, and he said ok the first thing is I want to shoot it in close up so I want the ticks to be on the face and the second thing is I want a mid-Atlantic accent with a blush of Russian and went 'ok fine no problem', so I went away for a couple of months trying to figure out what that was.'' Going on to say: ''I like doing accents it's really fun. It's fun trying to build somebody from the ground up and find a completely new voice and a new way of thinking, I think it's what makes my job interesting, so it's great.'' A Dangerous Method is a shift away in terms of genre and style from cult director Cronenberg's usual fare, but Mortensen, who has worked with him before, thinks the film will still be popular with his fans: ''I don't know, I think it's, they might be a little surprised, but I think it's one of those movies that will stay with people and as often happens with him, a year afterwards people see it again and they go, you know, I knew it was a good movie, but it's a great movie,'' he said.
