- Story Text: Mickey Rourke, Henry Cavill and Freida Pinto walked the red carpet Monday night in Los Angeles for the premiere of the epic adventure film, "Immortals."
The screening took place at the Nokia Theater L.A. Live, where fans lined the red carpet for a chance to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars.
Directed by Tarsem Singh, "Immortals" is an epic tale of treachery, vengeance and destiny. The 3D action adventure stars Henry Cavill as a heroic young villager who rises up against a power-hungry king, played by Mickey Rourke, who razes ancient Greece in search of a legendary weapon.
Getting ready for the film meant the cast had to spend lots of time in the gym.
"The most important part in the early phase was the physical side," said Cavill.
"The director was very clear that I had to not be chubby like I was when I screen tested and a six-pack was not good enough it was an 8-pack. So the physical was the initial hurdle which I had to attack and that became a staple throughout shooting as well."
Cavill added that getting to work with Rourke was something that he looked forward to.
"Not really intimidating," when asked what it was like acting beside Rourke. "You work with all types of people and he is a veteran actor so you actually get to learn from him as well. There is defiantly a beneficial thing as opposed to otherwise."
Freida Pinto, who plays a young Greek Goddess in the film, explained that she knew what she was getting into when she signed onto the project.
"I do realize when I took on the project that it was about the boys. So, it was all about Henry's character, so I knew that it was not going to be difficult. I knew what the story was all about. Moreover I had Isabel to keep me company. So, there were only two girls on the set so it was easy."
