- Story Text: Stars Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum arrived on the red carpet Monday night (February 06) for the Hollywood premiere of their new romantic film, "The Vow."
Based on a true story, "The Vow" the tells the story of Paige and Leo (Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum), a happy newlywed couple whose lives are changed by a car accident that puts Paige in a coma. Waking up with severe memory loss, Paige has no memory of Leo, a confusing relationship with her parents (Sam Neill and Jessica Lange), and an ex-fiancé (Scott Speedman) she may still have feelings for. Despite these complications, Leo endeavors to win her heart again and rebuild their marriage.
Tatum, whose building a fine career as a romantic lead, explained that in a love story, you can't fake on-screen chemistry.
"I don't watch dailies or anything like that. But, you can kind of feel it in the scenes, you can only hope that if you are really getting along on set that it will shine through in some of the scenes and some of the acting,' explained Tatum. "I think we were having too good of a time in some of the scenes that we were not supposed to be having such a great time. It is fun, to have fun on the set, I love my job and I love what we get to do."
McAdams, whose scored big with such romantic films as the "The Notebook," said it was the script behind the true love story that convinced her to take the role.
"Well its everything, you can not show up unless you get it somewhere deep inside," said McAdams. "It is the whole thing, fortunately, this was the one that I wanted to tell this story. I think it is so magical and true and uplifting."
Directed by Michael Sucsy, "The Vow" also stars Sam Neill and Jessica Lange and Scott Speedman.
