So, I thought what the hell, why not." VARIOUS OF WIDE SHOT OF CARPET.

- Story Text: Adam Sandler tackled the challenges of bad parenting skills when he arrived on the red carpet Monday(June 4) night in Los Angeles for the world premiere of his latest comedy, "That's My Boy."
In the film, Donny, played by Sandler, fathered a son, Todd (Andy Samberg), and raised him as a single parent up until Todd's 18th birthday. Now, after not seeing each other for years, Todd's world comes crashing down on the eve of his wedding when an uninvited Donny suddenly shows up. Trying desperately to reconnect with his son, Donny is now forced to deal with the repercussions of his bad parenting skills.
"It is a father who hits the bottle a little bit, no doubt about it, he gets a little loose and enjoys the ladies," explained Sandler.
"His son had enough of that and ran away from him. But, it is a love story of a father and son, the father is trying desperately to reconnect again and the son wants nothing to do with him and then realizes that maybe there is something decent about the guy," said Sandler.
Besides Sandler and Samberg, the cast for "That's My Boy" includes Leighton Meester, Susan Sarandon and "Vanilla Ice and Tony Orlando.
"We think of it while we are writing who would be funny to write for, like Vanilla Ice and Tony Orlando and stuff like that," explained Sandler, when asked how he goes about casting his films. "We were excited to write stuff with them. We do giggle at making them say certain things. We do it like that."
"Saturday Night Live" alum Andy Samberg told Reuters that he was the one that called up his friend demanding to be in the film after reading the script.
"There is pressure but he makes you feel at ease," said Samberg, when asked about working with Sandler. "He doesn't bring people in unless he believes in them and sees things very clearly and we generally saw eye-to-eye on everything. I would pitch him jokes for his character and vise-versa and we would kind of help each other out the whole way through."
Susan Sarandon, who plays the role of Mary McGarricle in the film, liked the idea of working with Sandler.
"I love "Punch Drunk Love" so I am a big fans of Adam. I hear that he has a lot of fun when he works. He was smart enough to cast my daughter and I saw stuff that she had done and he said "wouldn't it be funny if you played her older' and it was such an outrageous idea that seemed so funny. So, I thought what the hell, why not," said Sarandon.
