- Story Text: Actress Jennifer Garner's radiant smile brought sunshine to the "green turf" that lined the arrival line to her latest film, "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," which held it's world premiere in Hollywood on Monday night (August 06, 2012).
Joining Garner at the premiere were co-stars Joel Edgerton, CJ Adams and director Peter Hedges.
The film is an inspiring story of a happily married couple, Cindy and Jim Green (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton), who can't wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. When young Timothy (CJ Adams) shows up on their doorstep one stormy night, Cindy and Jim-and their small town of Stanleyville-learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life's greatest gifts.
For Garner, the mother of three children with husband/actor Ben Affleck, the chance to play the mom in this film is one she admittedly chased after.
"I'd liked to think that I could have played the role without having had kids," explained Garner. "It is true that once you have them it fundamentally changes whatever you do. It of course it impacted this movie because I am right in the thick of, I do remember being a first-time mom, I do remember all the nervous energy that went into it. You can't help it."
Co-star Joel Edgerton added that getting the opportunity to work with Garner on the project was something he really appreciated.
"Of course, she is everything you imagined her to be on screen," said Edgerton. "I really believe that whoever you are, the true essence of you finds its way through the camera. It is any wonder that everybody loves Jennifer because she is lovable."
For director Peter Hedges, Garner represented the perfect casting choice for the lead role in his film.
"She is everything I hoped she would be and more. What I mean by more is that I didn't expect that, there was a point where most people would say that I have given enough, I've done enough. But, she would do any extra take, she would do anything that was required to make the film what it could be."
"The Odd Life of Timothy Green" also stars CJ Adams, Odeya Rush and Ron Livingston.
