  • Story Text: Britain's Prince of Wales, Prince Charles arrived in Los Angeles on Monday (October 31) for a five-day visit during which he will see the riot-torn parts of the city as well as meet Hollywood celebrities and industry moguls.

    The Prince's plane touched down at Los Angeles International Airport where he was greeted by British ambassador to the United States Sir Robin Renwick, British consul in Los Angeles Merrick Baker-Bates and Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan.

    The five-day trip starts on the eve of the release of the prince's authorised biography, which the British media latched on to for revelations about his broken marriage and his family.

    On Tuesday, Charles will attend the premiere of British actor-director Kenneth Branagh's film "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein", which also stars Robert de Niro and Helena Bonham-Carter.

    Another of his engagements is a charity dinner on Thursday at the lavish mansion of Aaron Spelling, producer of the "Dynasty" soap opera.
