- Story Text: Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise returned to Reykjavik in the early hours of Sunday (July 1) from the remote set location where he is filming his new film 'Oblivion'.
Meanwhile, his wife Katie Holmes sought full custody of the couple's six-year-old daughter, Suri, a day after news broke she was filing for divorce.
Holmes is ending a six-year marriage that produced one daughter and captivated celebrity watchers world-wide.
Holmes filed papers in New York City on Thursday (June 28), citing irreconcilable differences and seeking sole custody of the couple's six-year-old daughter Suri in a move that came "out of the blue" for the "Mission: Impossible" actor, said one source with knowledge of the situation.
Reports said Holmes filed the documents in New York because the state of New York does not usually award joint-custody to warring parents.
Sources close to Holmes said she does not want their daughter to become part of the church of Scientology and that Cruise's fierce ties to the organisation were a key factor in her decision to seek a divorce.
Sources close to Tom Cruise expect him to fight to bring the case to California, instead of New York. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
