- Story Text: The stars turned out in London and Los Angeles for the international premiere of Martin Scorsese's new film 'Casino' days after leading lady Sharon Stone received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Stone was joined on Thursday (November 16) by fellow actress Faye Dunaway and the man who cast her as leading lady in his latest movie "Casino" director Martin Scorcese.
Stone's star, which was number 2,057 on the Walk of Fame, is located in the prestigious position exactly in front of the historic Mann's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.
Stone is best known for her roles in the films "Basic Instinct" and "Total Recall." Later that evening the limelight moved on to the international premiere of "Casino" in Los Angeles.
The film, which also stars Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci, is the first of Universal Picture's big budget releases of the "holiday season". It is described as an exploration of the "glittering, decadent world of Las Vegas in the 1970's".
"Casino" follows the rise of Sam "Ace" Rothstein (De Niro), a gambler overcome by ambition. His romance with the vampish Ginger (Stone) threatens his partnership with Nicky Santoro (Pesci), a professional hit-man.
Scorsese, De Niro and Pesci previously worked together in the critically acclaimed 'Goodfellas'.
Scorsese also turned out to the London premiere on Sunday (November 19) joined by an array of celebrities who came to preview the 39th London Film Festival closing gala.
Highly acclaimed actors Haley Mills joined her father Sir John Mills while Australian actor/singer Kylie Minogue wowed the crowd on her arrival.
Diverted from his usual genre of comedy, Spanish film director Pedro Almodovar, actress Barbara Hershey and British rock guitarist Eric Clapton were also among the international stars to join Scorsese in the celebration for his new movie. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
