Story Text: Nigerians in the town of Kano celebrate the festival of Durbar as they pay tribute to their spiritual leader.
In the ancient Islamic city of Kano on Friday (October 12) thousands of people paid tribute to their spiritual leader the Emir of Kano, Prince Aminu Ado Bayero in the Durbar festival.
Mounted on beautifully decorated horses, different community leaders in the Kano Emirate council led their people to pay homage to the Emir.
Speaking at the ceremony the crown prince to the Kano Emirate Aminu Ado Bayero says the ceremony is a religious as well as a cultural festival which the people use to celebrate the end of the 30 days of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.
