- Story Text: US tennis champions Venus and Serena Williams hold coaching clinic.
US tennis champions Venus and Serena Williams took part in a coaching session with young children in Lagos on Wednesday (October 31) during their four-day trip to Nigeria.
The sisters are in the west African nation to back a women's rights organisation campaign called "Breaking The Mould". Organisers say Serena and Venus will lend their fame to an initiative designed to inspire women across Africa.
The multiple Grand Slam winners will also give a lecture, attend a fund raising dinner and stage an exhibition tennis match against each other while they are in Nigeria.
After the coaching clinic, student Modina Onoha was delighted to have had the opportunity to play with Serena, who is the reigning Wimbledon, US Open and Olympic champion.
"I enjoyed today, I got to rally with Serena, it was nice, the crowd was cheering, and so far, so good and I can't wait to get the certificates and go home and show my parents and everything," said Onoha.
Ajibayo Akinkungbe was excited to see the famous sisters playing live.
"I'm excited to see them play on TV, and now I'm excited to see them live," said Akinkungbe. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
