Summary:In the north-eastern Kamchatka Peninsula district of Russia, the highlight of 1975 was undoubtedly the birth of a new volcano. Aptly named 'Predskazanny - the predicted one' - the volcano gave a spectacular display throughout August, dispersing clouds of gas and ashes high over the Pacific Ocean, and for scientists climaxed a year of study into the future. NOTE: Date is approximate. This clip may contain footage from multiple events; exact date or dates may be unknown.
