Summary:November 6 1975 saw one third of a million Moroccans on the march towards the border with neighboring Spanish Sahara. At the instigation of Morocco's King Hassan, this army of people was laying claim to the Sahara territory - the Moroccans have always regarded it as their own. Spanish frontier troops waited for the marchers to arrive but fortunately the demonstration passed off without bloodshed.
