  • Story Text: A low-budget British
    movie proved that a good plot and a charismatic cast are what's needed to
    attract the stars when Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels held it's UK premiere
    in London last night (August 25) Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is a story
    of London's East End underground....porn empires, rigged card games, gangsters,
    drugs, antique shotguns, and large amounts of cash - played out by a formidable
    cast including Sting, P.H.Moriarty, Jason Flemyng, Dexter Fletcher and two of
    the hardest hard-men in the business, footballer Vinnie Jones and the late
    bare-knuckle boxer, Lenny McClean.

    For first time director, Guy Richie, it's proving to be a winning
    combination.The film has been receiving rave reviews, with much of the attention
    going to the acting skills of Vinnie Jones.Jones plays "Big Chris", a menacing
    debt collector who happens to be a devoted father.

    Other members of the cast enjoyed working with the footballer, who has a
    real-life reputation to rival his on-screen incarnation.

    The premiere was certainly the most star-studded this summer.Lee Chapman and
    Lesley Ash, Justin Fashanu, Dannii Minogue, Louise Nurding, Ewan MacGregor,
    Robbie Williams, and Dustin Hoffman joined the director and members of the cast
    Lock Sock and Two Smoking Barrels for the event.
