  • Story Text: Following in the footsteps of the original Madame Tussaud's in London, Madame Tussaud's of New York will open its world renowned Wax attraction to the public on Wednesday.
    You've seen them on television, read about them in the papers, heard them on the radio, and learned about them in history class. Now you can get close up and personal with your favourite celebrities when Madame Tussaud's wax museum opens to the public in New York on Wednesday, October 18th.
    The $50 million, 85,000 square foot, five story interactive attraction has been developed by London based, Tussaud's Group Ltd.
    Nearly 200 masterfully crafted, life sized wax portaits, developed in the time honoured, hand crafted tradition of Madame Tussaud's studios in London, are featured at the attraction.
    Personalities include local and international celebreties such as John Travolta, Samule L. Jackson, Woody Allen, Hugh Grant and The Beatles and Princess Diana.
    Tony Peluso - Vice President of the Tussaud's Group USA, is excited about the New York flavour the Big Apple brings to the museum. "We wanted to reflect the city, the term we use is face in the place, as we chose the portraits to be party of the attraction, we wanted to ensure they would be represtative so, to choose Mayor Giuliani, Tony Bennett, Barbara Streisand, Woody Allen. Those kind of people are truly representative and reflective of what thet city is alll about."
    Peluso thinks the public will enjoy the virtial experience when they go to the museum.
