  • Story Text: Chart-topping Irish pop group Boyzone has wound up its first American promotional tour with an appearance at the Hard Rock Cafe in Los Angeles.
    Hoping to follow in the footsteps of the new wave of British bands such as the Spice Girls and Oasis, Boyzone released their second album "A Different Beat" in the U.S.
    The group hopes to captivate both the English and Spanish speaking markets with two different versions of their first single "Mystical Experience." The album also includes English and Spanish versions of "Words," originally released by the Bee Gees.
    "Mystical Experience" was initially performed by Latin pop star Enrique Iglesias, who sold more than one million copies of the song in the U.S. plus another 3 million worldwide.
    Iglesias also appears with Boyzone in their music video of the song and his producer, Rafael Perez-Botija, co-produced both versions of the song on the album.
    Boyzone is made up of five pop idols from Ireland: Shane, Keith, Mikey, Stephen and Ronan. The group's first album "Said and Done" was a million-selling debut throughout Europe. In all, the group has had seven number-one singles in the UK, selling out four performances last summer at London's Wembley Arena.
    Following their introductory American tour, the boys are returning to Europe for more touring there.
