Summary:In October a hi-jacked West German airliner finally came to rest in Mogadishu. The hi-jackers - two Arabs and two Germans - had demanded the release of a number of prisoners. West German commandos, with the co-operation of the Somali government, stormed the aircraft and brought 86 hostages out safely. The pilot had already been killed by the hi-jackers. All four hijackers died in the commando assault.
