Summary:The most distinguished of a number of victims of political violence in Italy, Signor Moro had been Prime Minister five times. He was the leader of the Christian Democrat Party, and was widely expected to become the country's next President. On the morning of March 16th, Signor Moro was on his way home from church when his car was ambushed.His driver and four guards were killed, and Signor Moro himself abducted. Massive police searches failed to find him. He was held captive for nearly two months, while the Red Brigade demanded the release of prisoners on trial. On May 9th, his body was found in a parked car in the centre of Rome.
