Summary:May 9 1978, the traumatic events which had gripped Italy for 54 days reach their climax with the discovery of the body of elder statesman Aldo Moro, murdered by Italy's Red Brigades terrorists. Moro was kidnapped while on his way to his office in Rome on March 16 1978. It was the most wounding blow to the nation struck by the terrorists. Despite the most intense manhunt Moro was not found, until his body was dumped in a Rome side street.
