Summary:The space station Skylab posed a problem for the American space authorities. It was due to fall to earth after six years in orbit, and they did not know where it would come down. Early in July, pieces of the disintegrating craft were seen streaking across the sky over Western Australia. About a thousand of them fell in the desert and started up a grand treasure hunt. There were no reports of anyone being hurt.
