Summary:A bomb exploded in the Brighton hotel where PM Margaret Thatcher & senior Conservative Ministers were staying, on October 12. The blast claimed 5 lives and dozens more were injured. The IRA claimed responsibility for the blast. The PM was not seriously injured in the blast which ripped through her bathroom. Norman Tebbit, the Trade and Industry Secretary had to be dug out from the debris. His wife was seriously injured.
