- Story Text: Authorities have pulled a total of 75 bodies from a mass grave in northern Mexico, a local official said in a statement on Tuesday (April 25).
Federal police digging in the outskirts of Durango, capital of the Mexican state of the same name, uncovered the severely decomposed bodies in the last few days, the state government official said.
Police found 58 bodies in the last few days with seventeen more bodies discovered.
Mexico has been engaged in a bloody war against drug traffickers for more than four years. Many of the 37,000 people killed have been found buried in ditches.
This month authorities found another mass grave containing the remains of 145 people in the border state of Tamaulipas. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
