Summary:Two cosmonauts in a Soviet space capsule returned safely to earth on September 7 after two earlier attempts to land had failed. The first Afghan in space, Abdul Ahad Mohmand and his Soviet crew mate Vladimir Lyakhov were 'feeling well after landing'. Their two abortive attempts to re-enter the earth's atmosphere on September 6 were due to equipment failure.
