- Story Text: Police presence was visible around Copenhagen on Sunday (February 15) following two deadly attacks in the Danish capital.
In the afternoon, police cordoned off several sections of a predominantly immigrant neighbourhood and took away several people for questioning, witnesses said.
According to reporter Jens Dahlkvist, at least four people were apprehended at an internet café in Copenhagen as police continued their investigation into the attacks.
"I'm here almost two hours ago, and one hour ago police arrested a total of four young men, I think and a woman. They cuffed them and took them away in a police car," Dahlkvist said.
Police would not confirm if the arrests had anything to do with the shootings.
Earlier in the day, police shot dead a 22-year-old Danish-born gunman after he killed two people at a Copenhagen synagogue and an event promoting free speech.
Two civilians - a synagogue guard and a filmmaker - were killed and five police were wounded in the two separate attacks in Copenhagen on Saturday (February 14) and Sunday.
Danish media widely reported the gunman to be Omar Abdel Hamid El-Hussein. Reuters could not confirm his identity and police declined to comment. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
