- Story Text: There was an air of excitement and confidence in London's Olympic Park on Thursday (July 26) just one day ahead of the official opening of the games.
Sporting action began on Wednesday with controversy when the South Korean flag was mistakenly displayed before North Korea's women's soccer match, but even that failed to dampen the enthusiasm of one of the Olympics production participants, Sarah, who commented: "...there's going to be hiccoughs here, there and everywhere; it's a massive event with a lot of organisation involved, but hiccoughs happen. Unfortunately, sad to hear that people protested, but in spirit of the Olympics everyone comes back together. Thumbs up and hope for the best next time around."
Nancy Cunningham said it was exciting, but had also involved lots of work.
"Really, really excited. Like, it's just amazing at the moment because we know that the torch has travelled all over the country and it's now in central London and knowing that that is coming and the opening ceremony is tomorrow, it's just amazing. We're so excited because we have been rehearsing loads in order to be ready to entertain everyone," said Cunningham.
Technician Dave Rawding said Friday would be a great day.
"I think the opening ceremony will go brilliantly. The preparations are well in hand, everybody's really working hard to get it sorted so that tomorrow will be a great day for everybody," said Rawding. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
