- Story Text: Russian figure skater Irina Slutskaya is confident of success at next month's Winter Olympic Games in Italy. The 26-year-old Russian, who is the women's European and world figure skating champion, was the star of the show on Wednesday (January 11) at the unveiling of the Russian Olympic Team's official clothing range for the games in Turin. "I have been wanting to go (to the Olympics) for quite a long time. What am I expecting? I am expecting to have a lot of good feelings and I expect to have a good start and to feel happy with myself," said Slutskaya at a Moscow city centre store decked out in the official Russian Olympic team clothing, designed by Italian fashion house Bosco di Chilegi. Slutskaya told reporters she was not expecting the unexpected to happen in Turin. "Last year we took part in a competition in Turin at the Olympic skating rink, and I was there again last September; so I know the skating rink very well and there is nothing new to expect there; I think there are not going to be any surprises (for me)," added Slutskaya. Some 150 Russian sportsmen and women are expected to take part in the Winter games in Turin next month. On Wednesday, some of Russia's former winter sports stars were on hand at the promotion of the official clothing for the Turin games, including figure skater Ilya Averbuch and former ice hockey star Pavel Bure, who is the team manager for the Russian ice hockey team at the Winter Olympics.
