Summary:A devastating earthquake in the Philippines on July 16 killed at least 1,000 people. Pictures show young children outside their school in Cabantuan, one of the worst hit areas. Strong aftershocks continued to rock the island of Luzon three days after the quake. In Baguio, the Red Cross said as many as 600 workers were believed to be trapped in collapsed factories.
