- Story Text: Supermodel Cindy Crawford is joining the ranks of models switching over into the acting world with the release of the new movie "Fair Game" co-starring William Baldwin and produced by action movie veteran Joel Silver.
Crawford said that she had not decided specifically to do an action movie first, it just happened that the movie she chose to do first was an action movie. She said that at least that meant that the action was the biggest star so it took the pressure off her.
She joins others such as Sharon Stone, Andie MacDowell, Rene Russo, and Angie Everhart who have already started to make their mark in feature films.
Angie Everhart caught the acting bug from the former fiancee Sylvester Stallone and had a role in the thriller "Jade". She said that as a model you have to be aware of yourself, your makeup, hair and facial expressions, whereas as an actress it is the opposite and you have to be absorbed in your character rather than in yourself.
Nina Blanchard was Sharon Stone's first modelling agent and she was also the one who helped Rene Russo make the jump into acting.
Blanchard said that Sharon Stone had always wanted to be an actress, never just a model and so had taken classes and worked hard at it. She said Stone had done a lot of early terrible films but always knew it would take time to succeed.
Blanchard said that Rene Russo was the only one who had not started out wanting to be an actress. Russo said that modelling had served her well for fifteen years and she hadn't really known what to do next.
Recently, Stone co-starred in Martin Scorsese's "Casino," Russo played opposite John Travolta in "Get Shorty," Angie Everhart had a supporting role in the thriller "Jade," and Andie MacDowell co-starred in Diane Keaton's "Unstrung Heroes." - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
