- Story Text: A five-week course on Commercial Policy and Trade Promotion, organised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (E.C.A.) opened in accra, Ghana on Monday (16 October).
It's the first time such a course has been organised for both English and French-speaking countries. Among the nations represented were Burundi, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Kenya, Nigeria, Chad, congo Brazzaville, Libya, Mali, Gabon, Uganda, Zambia, Ghana and Egypt.
Ghana's Commissioner for Trade and Tourism, Major Roger Felli, spoke at the course's opening ceremony and urged the closer co-operation of African countries to develop trade in the continent.
The course will take participants to some of ghana's larger industrial complexes and to Lome in the republic of Togo for evaluation of industrial trade problems first hand.
