- Story Text: General 1 strike in Delhi to protest against corruption and demanding electoral reforms was nearly complete, though most of the shops remained closed for fear of violence between the parties sponsoring the general strike and the ruling Congress that has been opposing the strike. However the strike was almost total though buses plied and some shops were opened under pusuasion of the Congress volunteers. These shops were protected by the police.
In Biha r where Mr. Jai Prakash Narain is also leading agitation for the dissolution of the Assembly and electoral refoms the police had to resort to tear gassing and cane charge.
